I am very much looking forward to my year as President of HBWC. The Committee are currently busy confirming the meetings for the remainder of 2008. These will be a mix of business and networking mixed with some social occasions. |
The Annual Awards Dinner was a spectacular success. The money from the raffle bringing our annual total to £5,000 raised for the Highland Homeless Trust. Thank you to those who completed the questionnaire at our last meeting. I was pleased too see that most of you agreed that the Awards Ceremony was excellent and also felt that membership of HBWC gives you good value for money.
It was great to receive some suggested topics for future meetings please continue to email these through to info@hbwc.co.uk. Networking featured high on all your lists and speed networking is something we are looking to introduce this year.
Our chosen charity this year is Maggies Highland. Maggies Centre is located alongside Raigmore Hospital and offers support to people whose lives have been affected by cancer. On Saturday 14th June HBWC are arranging a 'Glad Rags at Mags' event. We are looking for good quality clothing, designer wear maybe, to sell at this event. We are also looking for volunteers. Please email me or info if you can help with clothing or staffing.
Just leaves me to say enjoy your Club, make sure you get the most out of it and spread the word by encouraging guests to accompany you to meetings. Lets see if we can celebrate our 200th member in this our 13th year!
